Bishop of Anglican Diocese of Afikpo, Rev. Paul Udogu, says the federal government is playing politics with the nation’s educational system.
He said rather than playing politics with the system, it was time for the government to overhaul the education system and invest heavily in the sector.
Speaking during the 5th synod of the Afikpo Anglican Diocese held at Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic Unwana, Afikpo, Udogu argued that most of the nation’s tertiary institutions look like glorified secondary schools.
The cleric opined that there are poor infrastructures in the tertiary institutions, crowded lecture rooms with little or no furniture for students, inadequate funds for research, and poor workers remuneration which he said pose a serious challenge to the system.
