Lawmakers in the Ondo State House of Assembly have served impeachment notice on the state embattled Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi.
This took place yesterday during plenary, presided over by the Speaker of the Assembly, Mr Bamidele Oleyelogun.
The deputy governor has been at the centre of the storm following his resignation from the All Progressives Congress and defection to the Peoples’ Democratic Party.
Though journalists were barred from covering the proceedings, the Chairman House Committee on Information, Gbenga Omole, after the session, said there were 14 members that attended the session while the House needed only nine members to give out the notice.
Meanwhile, some of the nine lawmakers that pulled out of the impeachment process, described the action as illegal.
