The Nigerian Environmental Society (NES) has selected Rt. Hon Eziuche Ubani for admission into its professional fellowship.
In a letter dated September 11, 2019 and signed by the Executive Secretary of NES, Ben Chukwunyere Opara, the society said the award was in recognition of the former lawmaker’s contribution and service to humanity.
The award is coming a few weeks after his admission into the Board of Fellows of the Prestigious Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) (Chartered).
Ubani was pioneer Chairman of the first ever committee on climate change in the House of Representatives, the legislature’s first move to deepen understanding and awareness of the consequences of adverse climate change and the need to roll it back.
He was also the first Vice-President of GLOBE-Nigeria parliamentary Network on climate change and as well as a board member of the Pan-African Parliamentary Network on Climate Change.
Ubani who was a two-time member of the House of Representatives will be conferred with the award on November 15, 2019.
