Christians mark Palm Sunday across the World

Palm Sunday

Christians in Nigeria have been charged to be obedient and follow the exemplary humility of Christ in their daily dealings with people.

A guest preacher, Bro Vincent Okogbuo gave the charge at the Palm Sunday sermon in Methodist Church Wesley Cathedral Umuwaya road, Umuahia to commemorate the triumphant entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem

Speaking on the topic, “THE REWARD OF OBEDIENCE AND CHRIST EXAMPLE OF HUMILITY” which he took from the book of Philippians Chpt 2:1, Bro Okogbuo described Obedience as simply doing what one is asked to do

The guest preacher who gave example with the life of Jesus Christ, explained that even though he was God, he came down on Earth in the likeness of man thereby making himself a nobody just to save mankind

According to him, many Christians have encountered downfall and hardship in life because of pride and disobedience, adding that God never despises the prayers of a humble man.

Correspondent Godwin Ike reports that the service which witnessed the carrying of palm fronds by the members of the church, also featured prayers for Abia state and the country at large.
