The United States Government says there will be severe sanctions against those making hate comments or inciting people to violence with regards to the smooth conduct of this year’s general elections as they will be held accountable in the event of any political violence in Nigeria.
The US Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Stewart Symington made this known to Journalists in Benue State after a meeting with the Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom.
He explained that the present government, both at the state and Federal level came in by means of credible, fair and free elections that political leaders must uphold in 2019.
