The members of Ugwunagbo PDP stakeholders Forum have extolled the state Governor Dr Okezie Ikpeazu for conducting free, fair and credible local government elections for the second time in his administration.
Addressing the members during an enlarged meeting of the forum held recently at Umuagara village Ihieukwu, the leader of the forum – Chief Chinwe Nwanganga thanked God for protecting their lives and that of Governor Ikpeazu against the scourge of COVID 19 pandemic adding that the meeting was convened to reconcile all the aggrieved members of the party particularly PDP aspirants as a result of last year’s local government elections pointing out that bitterness and rancour among party faithful were always counterproductive.
Chief Nwanganga who was a former Commissioner for sports enjoined aggrieved members to jettison anger and support the present administration of the council by contributing good ideas that would help take the local government to the desired height, advised the local government Chairman to be magnanimous in victory.
In their separate speeches, Dr Ike Onyenweaku, former Executive Chairman of the local government, Chief Eze Nwanganga, State Party Financial Secretary – Chief Chinyere Onuoha and Chief John Onwunli stressed the need to make the meeting more regular adding that such would help strengthen the party at the local government.
The Forum also through a motion moved by Dr Ike Onyenweaku passed a vote of confidence on the Executive Chairman of the local government – Mrs Joy Nnata and the leader of the Forum – Chief Chinwe Nwanganga.
In her response, the Council Boss, Mrs Nnata expressed delight over her victory at the polls while appreciating the stakeholders for supporting her administration, she also pledged her commitment to the growth of the party, the PDP.
