U.S.A, Cuba, Haiti and 10 other Countries show interest to participate in the African Drums festival, organised by the Ogun State Government


The United States of America, Cuba, Haiti and 10 African countries have indicated interest in participating in the African Drums festival being organised by the Ogun State Government,

The chairman of the Local Organising Committee of the festival, Taiwo Adeoluwa, disclosed this at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta on Tuesday during a media briefing and the unveiling of the logo of the festival.

He said 20 troupes, which included public and private ones would be coming from 10 African countries, including Togo, Republic of Benin, Ghana, Congo Brazzaville, and Burkina Faso.

Adeoluwa also said 12 states and many private troupes had indicated  interest to participate in the festival.

He said the festival has metamorphosed from being “Nigerian Drums festival to African Drums festival” due to demand from other African countries after the maiden edition held in April last year.
