Abia State Ministry of Lands, Survey and Urban Planning has directed a team of Surveyors from the ministry to reopen the perimeter survey of the Abia State international Airport Project Site located at Ikwuano, Umuahia South and Isiala Ngwa North LGA.
The Commissioner, Barr Suleiman Ukandu who made this known to newsmen in Umuahia, requested traditional Rulers, President-Generals, Youth leaders and other stakeholders from the affected communities to corporate with the team of Surveyors directed to open up boundary lanes.
According to the commissioner, the exercise is to enable the Ministry identify the actual owners and size of plots for the purpose of sensitizing and engaging the communities including compensating the land donors.
Recall that in a tripartite meeting involving the donor communities, stakeholders, investors and the state Government, modalities for the commencement and completion of the airport project were adopted while the reopening of the existing perimeter survey and creation of boundary Lanes of the airport were discussed.
