The Supreme Court has affirmed the election of Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

In a unanimous judgment delivered on Wednesday by Justice Centus Nweze, the court held that the appellant, Mr Great Ogboru failed to prove allegations of over-voting.

He said that the appeal is a waste of the precious time of the Apex Court.

He further added that the decisions of the apex court on the position of card readers were too numerous to begin to mention them or for the appellant to claim they were not in the know.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday also upheld the election of Governor Abubakar Bello of Niger State.

The court dismissed the appeal filed by Mohammed Nasko of the Peoples’ Democratic Party to challenge the victory of Bello of the All Progressives Congress in the March 2019 election

The Supreme Court has also affirmed the election of Governor Darius Ishaku as Governor of Taraba state.

In a unanimous judgment delivered by Justice Ejembi Ekwo, the court held that the counsel to the APC admitted that the party had no candidate in the election and therefore has no locus standi to contest the election of the governor.
