Abia State Deputy Governor Sir Ude Okochukwu has reassured the people of Umuaku Isuochi in Umunneochi LGA of the State of government’s determination to ensure that their boundary problem with their Owerre Ezukala in Orumba South LGA of Anambra State is settled once and for all.

Sir Ude OKoChukwu stated this during a meeting held with a delegation of the people of Umuaku Isuochi over the lingering boundary problem they have with their neighboring Community in Owerre Ezukala in Orumba South LGA of Anambra State at the Government House Umuahia.

The deputy Governor used the occasion to make a passionate appeal to the National Boundary Commission to expedite action in the delineation and physical demarcation of not just the boundary lines of Umuaku and their Owerre Ezukala neighbors but of all boundary issues between the State and other States in the interest of peace.

Sir OKo Chukwu who is the Chairman of the State Boundary Committee stressed that government will never cede an inch of Abia land to other States and advised the people of Umuaku and other boundary communities to maintain peace by not engaging in any act that may lead to the destruction of lives and properties, no matter the level of provocation.

Speaking, leader of the delegation, Eze  M.N Achara, noted that the Supreme Court judgement of 1972 had already given a judgement on their boundary lines with their neighbors from Owerre Ezukala of Anambra State.

He said 15km of the boundary lines have been done, remaining only 8km and lamented that they have been restraining their youths to remain peaceful and calm despite provocations from their neighboring Community who have continued encroaching their lands by removing National Landmarks and Security posts.
