The Ad-hoc committee investigating Edo State House of Assembly crisis headed by Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi has indicted Governor Godwin Obaseki over his role before, during and after the protracted crisis of the State Assembly.

In the report which was presented to the Senate chambers on Wednesday by the Ad-hoc Committee panel, Sabi Abdullahi, Said the state Governor brought ill-motives to bear on the inauguration of the 7th Edo State House of Assembly which led to the crisis.

The report noted that the governor worked in connivance with the Clerk of the State House of Assembly,  Yahaya Oloreigbe to shabbily inaugurate the House without knowledge of all members.

The panel discovered that there was no adequate publicity of the date of proclamation other than the notices on the notice board which was not seen by all members-elect.

The Panel asked that a fresh proclamation ritual be done by the State Governor or the state Assembly risks Section 11(4) which empowers the National Assembly to legislate for the State.

Meanwhile, nine members-elect out of 24 have not been inaugurated due to the crisis that resulted in the intervention of the National Assembly.
