Champions of the 2018/2019 Nigeria Women Professional League (NWPL) Rivers Angels FC have bagged three million Naira in prize money and a one week tour in Spain courtesy of La Liga.
The Jewel of Rivers edged a hard-fought encounter against Confluence Queens of Lokoja with Cecilia Nku’s third-minute penalty enough for a 1-0 win in the final of the NWPL Super 4 at the Agege Stadium last Sunday.
Speaking on Magic FM’s Football show yesterday, Evelyn Nwabuoku who captained Angels on the day said another year without the league title would have been disastrous for the team especially after they had lost in the final of the Aiteo Cup earlier in the season.
