President Muhammadu Buhari meets behind closed doors with the National Security Adviser and other heads of security agencies in the country

President Muhammadu Buhari has met with the National Security Adviser (NSA), Major General Babagana Monguno (rtd), and heads of security agencies in the country.

The meeting held on Monday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, was present at the meeting.

Other heads of security agencies in attendance were Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Yusuf Bichi, as well as that of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ahmed Abubakar.

The meeting held one day after the President met with all the service chiefs as well as the IGP and the DG DSS at the State House in Abuja.

Although the details of the discussion have yet to be disclosed, the meeting took place following the killing of soldiers by the Boko Haram insurgents in the North East.

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, said on Saturday that the government was taking immediate measures to ensure that the loopholes which led to the fatalities were blocked once and for all.
