The Abia State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has presented the party’s flags to the 17 Local Government Chairmanship candidates and their deputies for the kick-off of the PDP campaign in the coming LGA elections.
Speaking at the event held at Trade Moore event center Okpara square Umuahia, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, said the works and projects built by the PDP administration in the State would speak and campaign for the party.
The Chairman of the occasion, Christopher Enweremmadu who noted that the gathering is a manifestation of the empowerment of the grassroot system, congratulated the PDP for the peaceful primary elections.
On his part, the PDP State Chairman, Hon Asiforo Okere, congratulated those who participated in the primary election, just as he thanked Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for his leadership style and developmental strides.
Responding on behalf of other candidates, the Chairmanship candidate of Obingwa LGA, Ibe Nwoke promised not to disappoint the confidence reposed on them by the electorates.
Correspondent Godwin Ike and Nnenna Gabriel reports Princewill Onyegbu, Tony Ukasanya, and Achor Nwakamma, who spoke on behalf of Abia North, Central and South, respectively expressed happiness that the zones are united and peaceful and are ready for the local government election come December 18, 2020.
