Apex Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohaneze Ndigbo, has condemned the detention of Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, by the EFCC.
Ekweremadu was on Tuesday detained by EFCC on allegations of corruption.
In a statement by its publicity secretary, Uche Achi-Okpaga, Ohaneze said the presidency has “gone mad with power and turned the anti-graft agency and security agencies into militant wings of APC.
Achi-Okpaga said the arrest, intimidation and harassment of Ekweremadu lends credence to the fact that democracy is collapsing irretrievably.
Ohaneze spokesman said that President Muhammadu Buhari has shown that he has no answer to the socio-political quagmires facing the country.
