Ohanaeze Ndigbo today protested against the plan by the Federal Government to shut down the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu over alleged congestion of shops, describing it as ill-timed.
The Apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation advised the federal government to stop such plan as this will hamper the economic development in Igboland.
Ohanaeze Ndigbo tasked Igbo political office holders both in the National and State Houses of Assembly, Governors and Ministers to come together and help calm down the looming chaos.
A statement by Chidozie Orizu, Special Assistant (Media) to the National Youth Leader of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Arthur Obiora, advised the government to steer clear of such plans to avoid chaos and crisis.
