Nigerian Army gets new Commander for the Guards Brigade

A new Commander for the Guards Brigade, Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Muhammed Usman, will assume duties today, August 5.

The Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Haruna Tagwai, announced this in a statement on Sunday.

Usman from Headquarters 28 Task Force Brigade replaces Musa who becomes Acting Commandant Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Centre, Jaji.

Tagwai disclosed that the handing and taking over of command between will hold at Headquarters Guards Brigade Conference Room in Abuja.

The Guard Brigade is an elite brigade of the Nigerian Army responsible for protecting the President of Nigeria.

The Brigade members guard the residence of the President and his guests, as well as perform ceremonial duties.
