The Nigeria Police Force has invited Senate President Bukola Saraki over his alleged relationship with suspects arrested following the bank robbery in Offa, Kwara State.
Police spokesperson, Jimoh Moshood, on Sunday said Saraki is been summoned to appear before a police team in Abuja for interrogation.
Moshood said at least five of the 22 suspects arrested in connection to the April 5 attack on five banks in Offa, which also led to the killing of at least 17 people, including nine police officers, confessed their allegiance to Saraki.
The Senate President is expected to report to the Force Intelligence Response Team office at Guzape, Abuja to answer to the allegations levelled against him.
The Force PRO said the Nigeria Police Force will continue to ensure that the rule of law prevails in every case under Police investigation and every offender is brought to justice.
