Nigeria Drugs Law enforcement Agency uncovers another large illegal drug factory at Osisioma, Abia State

In an effort to rid the society of illicit drugs and other psychotropic substances, the Abia State Command of the Nigeria Drugs Law enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has again made another large seizure of drugs from an illegal factory at Osisioma, Abia State.

In a press briefing at the Abia State Command Headquarters in Aba yesterday, State Commander, NDLEA, Akingbade Bamidele disclosed that the agency, through intelligence, discovered the illegal drugs factory at Omenihu Street, Osisioma.

After taking reporters round the factory he shared his thoughts particularly on the devastating effects of the drugs like Diazapam and others being manufactured there.

Commander Bamidele also spoke on a possible inter-agency collaboration with NAFDAC for instance, to get those drugs that had found their way from the illegal factory into the market.

On the probable consumption of drugs by youths who may under the influence foment trouble during the coming elections, the State Commander, NDLEA, Abia State, Mr. Akingbade Bamidele said the agency was doing everything possible to checkmate it; just as he looked forward to the Abia State Drugs Control Committee, headed by Deputy Governor, Udo Oko-Chukwu which through its instrumentality, shall make logistics accessible for the execution of their job.

He also talked about the seizures so far made in recent times to include Marijuana, Heroin, Cocaine, Tramadol, Rofenol and even arms.
