The national leadership of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, has denied ever threatening to force the Senate President, Bukola Saraki out of office if he fails to resign immediately.
In a statement by the National Secretary, Baba Ngelzarma, on Wednesday, the national body dissociated itself from a statement credited to one of its members, Garus Gololo, who had in an interview in Benue state threatened the association will force Saraki out if he does not resign immediately.
However, the national body of the association said Gololo spoke in his personal capacity and has no mandate to speak on behalf of the association.
It said the association is a nonpartisan body with no interest in the political terrain and hence, couldn’t meddle into the affairs of political actors thereby compounding already obvious challenges it faces. It said it would sanction the Benue member who issued such threat.
