Members of the Nigerian Bar Association in Imo state protest the murder of a Senior Magistrate

Members of the Nigerian Bar Association in Imo state, have protested the gruesome murder of a Senior Magistrate, Remmy Ogu by gunmen.

The protesting lawyers boycotted court sittings across the state on Friday last week.

Speaking during the protest, Chuzzy Attama called on the Inspector General of Police to bring the killers of the chief magistrate who was in charge of Uburu Magistrate’s Court in Orlu West Council Area of the state to book.

Attama said that the courts in the state lacked adequate security men and the killing of the Magistrate was a ploy to intimidate the judiciary in the state.

At the State Police Command Headquarters where they were received by the Police Commissioner, Dasuki Galdanchi, the CP said the Police will not rest until the perpetrators are arrested.
