Mass defections hit opposition parties in Imo state

About 5,000 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and the Action Alliance (AA) have decamped to the All Progressive Congress (APC), in Imo State.

The defectors were received into the APC fold by the apex leader of the part in the Owerri zone, Prince Lemmy Akankem.

This was contained in a statement sent to newsmen on Sunday.

Speaking while receiving the defectors, the APC leader in the Owerri zone, Pince Akankem, attributed the mass defection to the shared prosperity of Gov Hope Uzodimma’s government.

He said the defection and registration have afforded the defectors all the opportunity to be bonafide members of the party, saying that in no distant time PDP will empty itself into APC.

Reacting, Governor Uzodimma charged party members to erase the mindset of controlling the party structure and work in service to the people.
