Land dispute between Arochukwu LGA in Abia and Biase LGA of Cross River seriously intense as scores have been killed


Reports say the fight over land ownership between Isu communities in Arochukwu LGA and their neighboring Utuma community in Biase LGA of Cross River State is at the moment intense as scores have been killed in revenge and counter revenge attacks since yesterday.

Reports say after the killing of an Isu Pastor few days ago who had gone to harvest plantain from his farm by suspected Utuma militia, the youths of Isu Community launched a reprisal attack against their neighbors.

This attack was retaliated immediately and both sides suffered causalities.

As at the time of this report, the fear of further attack has sent Isu people completely out of all their communities into neighboring Aro towns as refugees.

According to a Special Assistant to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, Tony Kalu, he confirmed the incident and called on security agencies to immediately step in and stop the looming massacre of his people.
