The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has scheduled the rerun election of the State House of Assembly for the 25of January 2020.
This is following the verdict of the Court of Appeal sitting in Owerri which ordered INEC to conduct a rerun election in some state constituencies.
In Abia, the commission has fixed elections in the following polling units:
Arochukwu State Constituency, involving 10 polling units and Aba South State Constituency involving 15 polling units.
In a Press Release signed by the HOD, Voter Education and Publicity, Achibie Godfrey Chigozie and made available to Magic FM, the Commission through its Resident Electoral Commissioner, charged political parties and their agents to conduct themselves in the best possible manner and also assured electorates of a peaceful and credible electoral process.
