The Independent National Electoral Commission says the only way Saturday’s governorship elections in Bayelsa and Kogi States would be disrupted is if an atomic bomb is used.
Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, Rotimi Oyekanmi, said this yesterday.
Making reference to the February 2019 elections where the Returning Officer for the Imo West senatorial election, Innocent Ibeawuchi, was forced to declare Governor Rochas Okorocha the winner under duress, Oyekanmi said such a thing could not happen again.
He said INEC knows that collation centres are in danger as a result, there is a special security arrangement which is different from what they had in the past.
He said INEC was willing to appeal the victory of Okorocha to the level of the Supreme Court.
