Gunmen last Friday attacked a patrol team of Police officers around Ndiegoro axis of Aba, killing one policeman, injuring another and carted away two riffles belonging to the policemen.
The driver of a minibus that was used for the patrol also died during the incident.
The affected policemen were attached to the Ndiegoro Police Station.
The state Police Commissioner, Ene Okon, who confirmed the story, said the Police has arrested two suspects in connection with the incident.
Meanwhile residents of Umuosi Road, Okojombo, Ibere, Anaba and High Taste Road have decried the high handedness of the Police officers who are investigating the incident.
They allege that the Police have been harassing them, breaking into their homes, destroying their property and effecting arrest of innocent residents.
They called on the state government and the Police authority to call their men to order to prevent a breakdown of law and order.
