Governor Okezie Ikpeazu says the collapsed portion of the road between East Street and the Ogbor Hill Bridge will be fixed immediately and delivered within the next couple of days.
Ikpeazu gave the assurance when he paid a visit to the road early yesterday.
The Governor stated that the job was done in 2012 but unfortunately the first culvert was not reinforced properly.
Ikpeazu seized the opportunity to also assure Abians of his administration’s plans to kick start another palliative measures to cushion off the effect of the statewide lockdown.
On his part, the Commissioner for Works, Bob Chiedozie Ogu who said that the East Road will be fixed through direct labour from the ministry of works, assured that this will be achieved within two weeks.
