Governor Okezie Ikpeazu pledges support to revitalize Ulonna Farm settlement

As part of effort towards reviving the long abandoned Ulonna Farm Settlement, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu says his government would collaborate with the Ohuhu development Foundation to revitalize the Farm settlement.

Governor Ikpeazu gave the assurance in a meeting with the investors of Ulonna Farm settlement led by an Elder statesman Chief Onyema Ugochukwu in-company of representatives of Ohuhu Development Foundation.

According to Ikpeazu, the revitalization of the Ulonna Farm settlement would create job opportunities for youth, ensure food security as well as the needed raw materials for home and export purposes.

Earlier, Leader of the delegation Onyema Ugochukwu disclosed that the Foundation is interested in promoting rapid development in Ohuhu land hence their resolve to seek the Governor’s approval to develop a programme in order to bring the farm settlement into better use.

Presenting their proposal to the Governor, a member of the foundation Enyinnaya Onokala said they intend to develop Ulonna Farm settlement for the production of competitive cash crops with value addition for major domestic and export markets.

Correspondent Godwin Ike reports that the Deputy Governor Sir Ude Okochukwu, the SSG Chris Ezem among other Government functionaries were present at the meeting.
