Governor Okezie Ikpeazu establish a community development project called Direct Touch Initiative


Governor Okezie Ikpeazu says his administration has evolved a new strategy for rapid community development called the direct touch initiative.

Governor Ikpeazu who stated this at Iberenta in Ikwuano LGA, while addressing the people of Ikwuano during a stakeholders meeting, said that the office of the Governor will be in charge of the initiative.

The Governor said that he will liaise with stakeholders in Ikwuano LGA to ensure the construction of the Ariam ring road which construction has been made impossible due to litigation threat from an existing contractor, describing Ikwuano LGA as strategic to the economy of the state.

In a remark, a former Chairman, Ikwuano LGA and Convener of the meeting Stanley Ojigbo, a retired Real Admiral, Ralph Osondu and Eze Larry Agwu said the meeting was convened to interact with the governor and assured that they are solidly behind the future political ambition of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.

In their remarks the chairman Ikwuano LGA, Ngozi Orji, Uche Mpama and PDP Ikwuano Chairman, Obioma Igwe said the outcome of the meeting will make PDP more formidable for the task ahead, adding that Ikwuano women and Youths are well prepared for what lies ahead and drew the Governor’s attention to the erosion ravaging some communities in the area.

Correspondent Godwin Ike reports that the Commissioner for women Affairs Ugoeze Onyemachi among other government functionaries were present at the meeting.
