Governor Okezie Ikpeazu commissions Office Complex Abia State Independent electoral Commission


Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has formally commissioned the permanent Office Complex of the Abia State Independent electoral Commission ABSIEC, built by his administration.

Speaking during the ceremony yesterday at the new ABSIEC premises, Ogurube Layout Umuahia, Governor Ikpeazu said his decision to conduct the Local Government election is to make the Youths an integral part of governance.

The Governor who urged the Commission to provide a level playing ground for all political parties to test their popularity, congratulated the leadership of ABSIEC for achieving the project within three months.

He said building the befitting permanent Office Complex for ABSIEC has brought to an end the litigations and call for scrapping of the Commission in the State.

Speaking Earlier, Chairman of ABSIEC, Prof. Mkpa Agu Mkpa, noted that the Office Complex despite paucity of funds was completed within three months due to the full support of Governor Ikpeazu, adding that it was a testament to the fact that the Commission is well prepared for the Local Government election slated for today.
