Governor Okezie Ikpeazu says the Judiciary in Nigeria needs comprehensive reformation and retooling in line with global best practices for optimal performance for the common good of all.
Governor lkpeazu who stated this while declaring open the Abia State Administration of Criminal Justice Monitoring Committee 2020 Workshop held at the Michael Okpara Auditorium, Umuahia, stated that identifying innovative resources needed for effective service delivery must be vigorously pursued and put into concrete action by all Judicial stakeholders and players.
The Governor represented by his Deputy, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, reiterated that the three arms of government must work in synergy on the way forward to ensure speedy dispensation of Justice.
He pointed that part of the objectives of the Workshop among others was to equip the Court for receipt of electronic evidence and described the theme of the workshop “Repositioning Abia State Justice Sector For Better Justice Delivery” as very apt.
In his paper presentation, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Chief Uche Ihediwa, opined that it was the responsibility of the committee by virtue of section 455(c) to ensure that all agencies and departments associated with implementing the Administration of Criminal Justice Law work in perfect harmony.
