Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu assures PENGASSAN of adequate support


Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu has assured members of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) that his government will do everything to support the union through the creation of an atmosphere of peace and security.

The Governor who made this known yesterday when he received in audience the central working committee of PENGASSAN led by its president, Engr Nduka Ohaeri at the Government House Umuahia, appealed to the Association to help ensure the availability of petroleum products at the Osisioma depot.

According to the Governor, a situation where essential petroleum products like petroleum and kerosene were not readily available at the depot was not welcome and called for more attention to be given to the depot.

Governor Ikpeazu who spoke through his deputy, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, stated that oil and gas remains one of the pillars of his government, saying that the citing of the Enyimba Economic City in Ukwa is designed to support the area to develop rapidly which once the city takes off, Ukwa LGA may overtake Aba in terms of development.

Earlier, the President of PENGASSAN, Engr Nduka Ohaeri commended the Governor for his efforts in the area of security, patronage of Made in Aba products and development of the Enyimba Economic City and urged him not to relent.
