Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu says his administration would continue to put issues affecting the security of lives and property of people of the State on front burner of the scheme of things.
The Governor stated this yesterday when he received in audience the new State Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps Abia State command, Vincent Ogu and his team at the Government House in Umuahia.
Ikpeazu said impunity has grown in ranks among the young ones adding that there was need for re-orientation of the youths and therefore called on NSCDC to rise to the occasion and work with the State government to completely stamp out street cultism which has become a major factor in promotion of crime
The Governor who also stressed the need for the Civil Defence Corps to be a step ahead in crime prevention, noted that no meaningful development can be achieved in an insecure environment.
