Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun and APC National Chairman Adams Oshiomhole have continued to trade blames over the controversy that has trailed the conduct of primaries in the state.
The controversy generated by the primaries in Ogun State continued over the weekend with Governor Amosun accusing Oshiomhole of falsehood and attempting to help hijack the state government.
According to a statement by the Ogun government, contrary to Oshiomhole’s position, “the only gubernatorial primary held in the state was that of October 02, 2018, which produced Adekunle Akinlade as the winner”.
The statement was in reaction to a press briefing by Oshiomhole on Friday, during which he accused governor Amosun of taking series of steps to impose his preferred candidates on the APC thereby contravening the party’s constitution.
Oshiomhole has also insisted that the authentic governorship primary conducted by the APC in Ogun produced Dapo Abiodun and not Akinlade as the party’s governorship candidate.
The Ogun governor, however, faulted Oshiomhole’s position and the language he used to express the same.
