Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, has been cleared by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship Screening Committee, to run for the party’s primary ahead of the 2019 governorship election in the state.
Governor Ikpeazu, who appeared before the screening committee at the South-East Zonal Headquarters of the party in Enugu State, where he was issued with the clearance certificate, was commended by the party as worthy ambassador of the party, who has kept the flag of the party flying with pride in Abia.
The southeast zonal chairman of the party, Augustine Umahi, commended the Governor for his achievements in Abia, which he said had contributed in making the party attractive and more popular in the zone.
Speaking after his screening and clearance, Ikpeazu thanked the PDP for giving him the opportunity to serve.
He also revealed that he is the only aspirant for the office of the Abia State governor on the platform of PDP.
