Crack in Ohanaeze as embattled Secretary-General rejects electoral committee

By magic

December 22, 2020

The embattled Secretary-General of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Barr. Uche Okwukwu, has declared that with the current crisis rocking the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the South-East clamour for Nigeria presidency was at risk.

Okwukwu, who has been in a running battle with the Chief Nnia Nwodo-led Ohanaeze, spoke to journalists in Enugu on Monday.

The misunderstanding between him and the president general got to a point when the Nwodo-led Ohanaeze suspended Okwukwu, but Okwukwu said he remained the scribe of the Igbo umbrella body.

He posited that the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization was heading for imminent factionalization.

He spoke in reaction to the fresh inauguration of new members of the Ohanaeze Electoral Committee.

The newly reconstituted committee has former Ohanaeze President, Garry, Enwo Igariwey as Chairman.

But Okwukwu again faulted the process, insisting that any action taken by the committee would amount to futility.
