The president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Ahmad Ahmad has confirmed that the finals of the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup will be played as a single match on a neutral ground from the upcoming season.
The two inter-club competitions have in the past been played on home and away fixtures even at the finals but recent developments from the CAF executive committee meeting in Cairo is indicating an end to these.
The Executive committee members met in Cairo this Wednesday where they arrived at the decision after several calls to change the format in the past.
This new format comes after the hilarious incident that occurred in the final of this season between Moroccan side Wydac Casablanca versus Esperance football club of Tunisia.
