The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State has promised to reclaim the state from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the 2019 general elections.
The party’s leader in the state, Senator George Akume, said this on Sunday at a caucus meeting in the state.
The decision according to him, follows the defection of the state governor, Samuel Ortom to the PDP as well as his re-election bid.
He also accused the state governor of stealing the APC’s mandate.
Reacting, the Governor’s spokesperson, Terver Akaase said only the people of the state can determine whether the Governor stays or not
Meanwhile, the party has adopted the method of the indirect primaries ahead of the general elections and through a voice vote, endorsed the re-election bid of President Muhammadu Buhari.
