Three policemen have been confirmed dead in an accident which occurred on the Enugu- Abakaliki highway.
Ten others who were in the Hillux van they were travelling in also sustained varying degrees of injuries, it was gathered.
They were said to be returning from Effium community in Ohaukwu local government area when the accident occurred.
A source at the scene of the incident narrated that the incident happened after Ishieke Junction along the expressway.
Commissioner of Police in the state, Garba Aliyu confirmed the incident.
Garba in an emotion ladden voice noted that the ten injured officers are in intensive care unit at the Alex Ekwueme University Teaching Hospital Abakaliki (AE-FUTHA).
