The Academic Staff Union of Universities, Federal University of Technology, Akure chapter, has warned Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, not to meddle in the affairs of members of the union.
Fayemi was alleged to have said that the lecturers were faring better under the current administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by ASUU Chairman, FUTA chapter, Bola Oniya, he posited that ASUU members had been having a difficult time since the beginning of Buhari’s administration.
ASUU said Buhari’s government inherited a ludicrous budgetary allocation of nine percent in the sector and reduced it to seven percent in the present 2018 budget.
The union asked the governor to focus on developing Ekiti State, the masses and the public university in his domain in order to have a different mindset about the ASUU’s matter.
