The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP, Abia State polytechnic, Aba chapter resumed indefinite strike following months of unpaid salaries by the management of the institution.

The lecturers, who were brandishing placards with different inscriptions, such as “No To Eboh”, “OVI sack Eboh Now”, With Eboh, No Negotiation”, called for the sack of the rector of the polytechnic, Professor Ezionye Eboh over his insensitivity to the plight of the polytechnic lecturers.

The union said that they would only call off the strike when their salaries and wages were paid.

At the polytechnic gate were heavily armed soldiers who were dispatched to the school to forestall any breakdown of law and order.

When contacted, the Public Relations Officer of the polytechnic, Mrs. Chinyere Eze said the commissioner of education On Tuesday evening met with the union members

She also maintained that the strike will not hinder the matriculation billed for Thursday
