Abia State Governor and Leader of the People’s Democratic Party in the State; Okezie Ikpeazu, has resolved the misunderstanding between the State PDP Chairman, Johnson Onuigbo and some Members of the State Executive Committee of the Party.
In a meeting held with the Governor last night at the Government House Umuahia, and attended by Members of the State Executive Committee of the Party, the Deputy Governor, Ude Oko Chukwu, Members of the Board of Trustees of the Party and a former Deputy Governor of the State, Acho Nwakanma as well as other stakeholders in the Party, the Governor, after listening to spokespersons for members of the State Executive Committee who had expressed grievances against Onuigbo, admonished both sides to appreciate that affairs of the Party are best treated internally within the PDP family.
Ikpeazu reminded members of the State Executive Committee that PDP in Abia State has been the envy of other state chapters, in terms of internal peaceful coexistence and harmony.
The Governor while acknowledging issues raised by both sides, urged them to put the collective interest of the Party first, especially now that the Party is preparing for elections.
At the end of the reconciliation meeting, the Chairman; Onuigbo, the Vice Chairman of the Party in Abia-North, Mathew Ibe, an Ex-Officio Member of the Party, Chijioke Akanwa and the Publicity Secretary of the Party, Don Ubani, thanked the Governor and assured that the Party will work harmoniously to make sure the Governor and all candidates of the Party win their elections next year.
