Abia State governor Okezie Ikpeazu has fulfilled the promise he made to the victims of Nkwo Ngwa fire disaster that took place last month.
The governor who had earlier promised to donate N5 000,000, was represented by former Agriculture Commissioner and PDP House of Rep candidate, Uzo Azubuike.
Governor Ikpeazu promised to give the victims who lost property more than one million naira some financial assistance within the week while those who lost property less than a million naira will share the 5 million naira equally.
The governor’s representative told them to be steadfast and vigilant to avoid recurrence.
Two of the victims who spoke on behalf of the others, Elder Alfred Nwankwo and the market chairman Lawrence Okechukwu, thanked the governor for the gesture and promised total support and solidarity to his administration.
Present were Petroleum Commissioner, Chizurum Kanu, Exceutive chairman Aba North LGA, Stanley Ogbonna, PDP campaign Director in Aba, Hon. Obioma Ekpem and the traditional ruler of the community, Eze Monday Ugboh among others.
