The Governor of Abia state, Okezie Ikpeazu has approved the constitution of an infrastructural development council that will harmonize all infrastructures in the state
Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, Elder Richard Nwala who revealed this while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the meeting held yesterday between the Governor and Contractors at the government House Umuahia, said the council is to be chaired by Governor Ikpeazu while the incoming commissioner for works will be the vice chairman.
Elder Nwala noted that other Agencies involved in the council includes, Ministry of Works, Abia State Road Maintenance Agency (ABROMA), Abia State Estate Development Agency (ABSEDA), Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP), Rural Assess and Mobility Project (RAMP) and the ministry of Education.
The Permanent Secretary, equally informed that the Governor made available funds and directed all the contractors to go back to sites and deliver a total of twenty projects within the first hundred days of his second Administration.
He added that some road projects to be completed includes, Emejiaka Street, Emelogu Road, Opobo road/Emelogu Junction, Intigha/Mbawsi road, Etchie road, Danfodio, Station avenue, Igbere Street and Emaculate road all in Aba
Others include, Saint Pauls road, Umuika/Umuoba, Elumma Egege road including the maintenance of all existing roads in Aba town, Ohokobe/Afara roads, Ukume road, Agbama Housing Estate roads, Udeagala roads, Umuahia and Ohafia town roads.
