Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has presented a brand new Hilux van to the Director General, Abia State Street light insulation and maintenance Agency, Sir Tony Ezebuiro to enable the agency carry out its monitoring work with ease.
Presenting the key of the vehicle to the Director General of the Agency yesterday at the Government House, Umuahia, Governor Ikpeazu assured that his administration would do everything within its power to enhance their activities.
The Governor who spoke through his Chief of staff, Dr Anthony Agbazuere, disclosed that the major reason he decided to fix street lights on Abia roads was to aid in fighting crimes, illuminate the environment and enhance economic activities.
Receiving the key to the vehicle on behalf of the Agency, the Director General, Sir Tony Ezebuiro, appreciated the Governor for the gesture and promised to liaise with other agencies to ensure that the solar streetlights were revamped and sustained to light up the streets of Abia.
