Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has inaugurated a 10 man committee on Revalidation of private Primary and Secondary Schools in Abia State with Dr. Mrs. Kate Ndukuba as Chairman.
Inaugurating the committee, the Governor, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Eme Okoro said the terms of reference included; to verify the authenticity of all documents of approved schools, to verify payments claims made by the schools from registration till date, to identify illegal and non-registered schools, to identify all indebtedness to government, to ensure all payments in approved to be made to government approved and designated account and informed that the committee has three months to do its job and report to the Governor.
The Governor urged the committee members to liaise with the Ministry of Education to obtain the list of all approved schools and the Board of Internal Revenue to confirm evidence of payments made by the schools.
Other members of the committee include; Mr. Rowland Nwakanma, Mr. I. I Izima, Sir Chimdi Oluoha, Mrs. Princess Ubani, Mr. Ben Iroakazi, Mr. Blackman Ubani, Chief Steve Amanze, Mr. Chijioke Okoronka and Nwogu Alozie serves as Secretary.
Responding on behalf of other members of the committee, the Chairman, Dr. (Mrs) Kate Ndukuba thanked the Governor for appointing them and assured the team would deliver and in good time too.
