Abia State Government holds Valedictory Service to honor Solomon Ogunji

As part of activities marking the burial ceremony of the former Commissioner for Environment late Dr Solomon Ogunji, Abia State Government has held a Special Valedictory Service in his honor yesterday.

Speaking during the Valedictory service held at the Michael Okpara Auditorium Umuahia, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu noted that he had a smooth relationship with the late Solomon Ogunji right from teenage, adding that he felt a deep sense of personal loss by the ugly Development.

Governor Ikpeazu described the deceased as fearless, Courageous, transparent and was beyond compromise, adding that they both fought and won many battles together.

The deputy Governor Sir Ude Okochukwu in his tribute noted that the deceased offered his best services to the state, very straight forward, humane and prayed God to grant him a peaceful repose.

Speaking onbehalf of the family, Dr Emmanuel Ogunji noted that the late Dr Solomon Ogunji had in the past thirty years rendered unquantifiable services to the state, adding that death of Dr Solomon Ogunji has left some cracks in the life of his wife and five children.

Delivering a sermon on the Topic “Never forget who you are”, the President Eastern Nigeria Union Conference, Seventh day Adventist Church, Pastor Bassey Udoh represented by Pastor Ukaegbu Joseph, described a man as a passing shadow.
