Abia State Government has called on Abians to disregard reports circulating and credited to the State Commissioner for Health about the active cases of covid-19 at the NYSC orientation Camp in Umuna, Bende LGA

The Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu stated this yesterday while briefing newsmen on the recent developments of reported Covid-19 cases at the NYSC Camp in the State

He disclosed that out of 1,181 Response Diagnostic Test conducted, 973 were corps members, 208 were workers inside the camp, 6 corps members tested with the RTD test kit returned positive, only 5 were PCR confirmed, 4 were treated at the state isolation center and discharged remaining only one case which would soon be discharged.

The State coordinator of NYSC, Lady Bona Fasheke, on phone said the Camp was covid -19 free because the necessary covid-19 protocols were adequately put in place by the NYSC management, as every corps member who stepped into the camp was negative.
