Abia State chapter of People’s Democratic Party protest against police brutality of Ekiti State Governor

Members of the Abia State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, have held a peaceful protest, against the alleged police intimidation and brutality of Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose on Wednesday.

Addressing the press shortly after a protest match that took Party faithful through major streets of Umuahia, the State Capital, State Chairman, Johnson Onuigbo, condemned the action of the police, describing it as undemocratic.

The protesters are accusing the police of trying to use intimidation to rig the July 14 governorship election in the state.

Our Correspondent Nnenna Gabriel reports that the Chairman and members of the Party executive later moved to the headquarters of the Nigerian police force, to submit their protest letter.
