Governor Okezie has saluted the Traditional Ruler in Abia State for their unflinching support to his administration throughout his eight years in office.
The Governor was speaking while holding a valeditory meeting with the traditional rulers in Abia state led by Eze Ndubuisi Nwabekee.
The Governor informed them that a new Governor would emerge by today, May 29 and disclosed that while handing over to the new Governor, he would inform him that there was a cordial relationship between the government and Ndi Eze in the state.
Dr Ikpeazu said he was happy with their prayers and good wishes while he served, as Abia enjoyed peace, adding that there was no bank robbery in the state in the last eight years. He urged them to support the new Governor to succeed and take the state to higher heights.
The out-going Governor, who prayed that God would give the incoming Governor sound mind to lead the state, stated that Dr. Alex Otti was not going to build a new Government House as he had built it for the state.
Responding on behalf of the Traditional Rulers, the Chairman, Abia state council of traditional rulers, Eze Joseph Nwabeke said that Traditional Rulers in the state were happy for the peace and security that characterized the eight years administration of Dr. Okezie and thanked God for the level of progress that greeted his administration.
The Traditional Rulers later conferred on the Governor, the award of Ambassador of Peace for his efforts in engendering peace in the State.
